How do I renew my license? | Step 1. Complete your continuing education hours. Step 2. Starting December 31st, 2014, you are required to submit proof of your continuing education hours to renew your license. Step 3. Renew your license online at: Board Website |
What if I don't renew my license? | "(2) The Board may suspend, revoke, or refuse to issue or renew a license after notice and opportunity for the applicant/licensee to be heard, upon proof of any of the following actions: (f) practicing on a revoked, suspended, or inactive license; (3) In addition to the action on the status of the license, the Board may impose an administrative fine of not more than $5,000 (five thousand dollars) for each violation." |
Why should I renew my license? | (1) An expired license for an electrical contractor which has expired due to failure to renew may only be reinstated within five (5) years from the date of expiration after application and payment of a reinstatement fee, payment of all accrued renewal fees and satisfaction of all continuing education requirements, which may be as much as thirty-five (35) hours. The reinstatement fee is in addition to all other fees which may apply." |
What happens if I'm late to renew my license? | There is a late renewal fee which must be paid. "(2) An expired journeyman electrician’s license which has not been restored within two (2) years following its expiration may not be renewed, reinstated or re-issued thereafter." |
